‘STILL KNOCKS’ COMES KNOCKING
Dricus du Plessis replaces JP Kruger at EFC 37, 21 February
Johannesburg (South Africa) – It was announced yesterday that former number one contender JP ‘Tinkerbell’ Kruger had suffered a severe injury to his verterbrae and was forced to withdraw from his EFC 37 bout against Darren ‘Double D’ Daniel. With just under a month to go until EFC 37, Dricus ‘Still Knocks’ Du Plessis has stepped in to welcome back Daniel to the Hexagon.
After an outpour of support and well wishes for Kruger, fans took to social media to express who they wanted to see face Daniel on 21 February. The name that was called for more above any other is none other than former number one middleweight contender Dricus Du Plessis.
In du Plessis last outing in the Hexagon, he faced the then middleweight champion McLellan in a three round battle that ended with du Plessis being choked out and suffering the first loss of his professional career. Now du Plessis decided to hold off his drop down to welterweight for this fight. He wants his redemption for that first loss and jumped at the chance to face his former adversary’s training partner.
