EFC AFRICA – Extreme Fighting Championship – THREE BOUTS ADDED TO EFC 38

Johannesburg (South Africa) – EFC 38 is around the corner and the fight card is heating up. It was already announced via Twitter, that Peter ‘Kratos’ Nyide will face Nelson ‘No Taps’ Feiteira by EFC matchmaker Graeme Cartmell. Now added to this is two high paced flyweight bouts of between Baldwin Madlose vs. EFC debutant Jasen ‘Money’ van der Merwe and Craig ‘Nemo’ Ninow vs. Francois ‘Franaconda’ Groenewald.

This will be the first time EFC returns to Durban after the initial event at EFC 33 and will feature many local heroes fighting for the pride of their home town on the east coast.

Opening the April event will Madlose coming off a two fight losing streak in the bantamweight division. He has since dropped down to the new flyweight division, where he feels it will be more suited to his frame. He will be facing two-time amateur champion in his professional EFC debut in the likes of van der Merwe. Both athletes are big in the flyweight division and promise explosive knock-out power.

The second flyweight bout will see two experienced campaigners do battle in a new division. The last time Ninow and Groenewald met was at EFC 23 and ended with Groenewald getting the win in the third round via a rear naked choke. Ninow will be hunting for his redemption and make his mark on the new division. Meanwhile Groenewald needs to get back into the winning column after having back to back losses to bantamweight champion Demarte Pena and Nkazimulu Zulu.

The first bantamweight bout of the evening will see another two stalwarts of EFC go head to head. Nyide may not have the strongest of records. However, what his record hides is the close wars that every one of his bouts has been. The same can be said for Feiteira who is running a two fight losing streak via devastating knock-outs in the first round. In a new weight category, Feiteira has reinvented himself and wants to get back to his earlier winning ways.
